Home > Disaster Response > Continued prayers asked for flooding and wildfire victims

NALC Disaster Response asks for continued prayers for our brothers and sisters dealing with flooding in and around Houston, Texas, and the wildfires near Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.

At present, no NALC congregations have been directly affected, but some have had to cancel church services because flooded roads surrounding them caused unsafe driving conditions. The Brazos River has crested in some areas but floodwaters continue downstream and are not expected to begin receding for several more days.

Residents of the Fort McMurray area are now returning to rebuild their homes.

Your prayers for all victims of these disasters can bring comfort and assurance in these difficult times.

Gifts to support NALC Disaster Response may be given online or sent to 2299 Palmer Drive, Suite 220; New Brighton, MN 55112-2202. You may designate your gift for flooding or the Canadian fires by noting it on your check.
