The NALC vision calls for every congregation, small or large, to have an active, intentional relationship supporting a local community ministry, one of the NALC mission congregations in North America and one global mission. There are three categories of ministries in the NALC: Ministry Partners, Recognized Ministries, Great Commission Society Ministries.

  • Stephen Katterhenrich

    Growing up at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grove City, Ohio, Stephen and Rachel were blessed to learn the value of knowing and serving God, as well as serving others. The Katterhenrichs have been serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Tanzania since 2011, working in the city of Mbeya where 13 different language groups are working together on Bible translation.Learn More

  • St. Elias Christian Church (Chicago, IL)

    An NALC congregation in Chicago that has received NALC grant funding. With services in Arabic, St. Elias’ mission states: “We believe in Jesus Christ as our own Savior. Because of that we serve immigrants who came from the Middle East.”Learn More

  • SON Network

    Formerly EEMN, SON Network serves people in a part of the world that is often overlooked as a mission field. We excel at reaching spiritual orphans in the unique context of former communist nations. The spiritual darkness and challenges of former and currently communist nations are uniquely different from more common, third-world missions destinations. While most mission organizations are focused on service and social ministries (building homes, digging wells, clothing and feeding the poor), this is often a means to an end to share the Gospel.Learn More

  • SMI Haiti

    Since 1996, SMI Haiti has been engaged in providing assistance in practical ways to those in great need in Haiti. SMI Haiti is making a difference in the daily lives of Haitians living in the Arcahaie area north of Port Au Prince.Learn More

  • Saint Martin Lutheran Church (Atlanta, Georgia)

    Saint Martin Lutheran Church is a mission congregation in the metro-Atlanta area. Founded in December of 2019, they are striving to provide a church home that is firmly anchored in the bedrock foundation of Christ’s loving grace, driven by a mission to serve God’s children and firmly grounded in the traditional values clearly expressed in the Bible and not in the secular partisan political agendas of the day.Learn More

  • Rindal Lutheran Church (Viking, MN)

    Beginning as a house church, Rindal Lutheran Church is a vibrant and rapidly growing community of followers of Jesus. Served by Pastor Tim Lundeen (who is a part-time and bi-vocational pastor), this congregation grew so quickly that they outgrew their home. They felt so strongly that God had a new plan for them, even though they didn’t yet know what it was. One of their members served on the board of a cemetery where there was a church building. It had stood empty for 30 years.Learn More

  • Pueblo de Dios Lutheran Church (Compton, CA)

    “Sharing the spiritual bread and material bread” is Pueblo de Dios’ mission. The congregation serves and reaches out to low-income people in Compton, California, many of whom are Hispanic. “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor” (Luke 4:17-19 NIV).Learn More

  • Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (Santa Barbara, CA)

    A mission congregation of the NALC incorporated in 2013, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church meets on the Westmont College campus. The congregation strives to serve the kingdom of God with and through the students and other members of the Westmont community, along with families and others from the greater Santa Barbara area.Learn More

  • Peace Lutheran Church (Clifton, TX)

    A mission congregation in Clifton, TX, Peace’s mission is to simply remain that beacon of Light in the darkness to those in their community and local area who are adrift due to the brokenness that is plaguing many mainstream churches.Learn More

  • Oromo Evangelical Church of Denver

    Targeting the many Ethiopian communities in the metro Denver area, the mission of Oromo Evangelical Church of Denver is “to declare and demonstrate the power of the gospel of Christ with clarity, simplicity and entirety, thereby restoring mankind to God’s original intention.” With one part-time employee and ten volunteers, plus members, their evangelism strategy is to preach the Gospel, knowing the neighborhoods they serve and befriending people in need.Learn More
